The foundation of all UNI-SOLAR products is their unique Triple Junction amorphous silicon solar cell. Amorphous construction allows lower costs, and a flexible substrata with DuPont Tefzel glazing creates a flexible, unbreakable product. Each cell is composed of three semiconductor junctions stacked on top of each other. Each layer is tuned for increased sensitivity to specific light frequencies. The bottom cell absorbs red light, the middle cell absorbs green light and the top cell absorbs blue light. This spectrum splitting capability delivers higher efficiency than any other amorphous silicon products.
